About the Owner.
Hello,
I was born & raised in Jacksonville and met my wife Debbie at Englewood HS in chorus class during my Junior Year.
After serving in the US Air Force for 4 1/2 years during the Vietnam War we moved to Sarasota, Florida where I attended Ringling School of Art & Design. During the summer, after my first year, me and a couple of my buddies, Ken Malone & Lee Nantz, started Ringling Magazine. The FIRST publication in the history of the school.
After college I was hired to start the Art Dept. at the Bradenton Herald Newspaper and was responsible for illustrating articles that ran in the newspaper.
After a couple years in Bradenton, I was offered a job in Norfolk, VA as Staff Artist for the Ledger Star Newspaper. We lived in VA Beach for about a year and a half before moving home to Jacksonville where all our family lived.
After our move home, I was hired by the Hamilton Collection as an Art Director, and then blessed to have two children, Justin in 1980 & Rachel in 1987.
In 1990, me, my wife Debbie, and a couple of very dear couples started Grace Chapel Church in Mandarin which is now called Grace Life Church.
Through the next several years I worked as Art Director with the Jacksonville Bulls of the USFL, then started St. Johns Creative Services with Ken Mcloud, started Hallelujah Graphics, and then became Art Director at Perdue Office Interiors, where I worked for Chris Young who was the President.
After leaving Perdue I was hired by Pastor Paul Zink, as staff Artist, at New Life Christian Fellowship, where I worked for 5 years. During this time I met Pastor Rocky & Terri Morris who would become our Senior Pastors at Grace Life Church in Mandarin in 2015.
In 2004 I was hired by Ken Yarbrough, owner of Homes & Land Magazine of St Augustine as a part time Sales Associate.
We have been blessed through the years and on April 1, 2024, instead of retiring at age 72, Debbie & I decided to purchase Homes & Land Magazine from Ken Yarbrough after working for him for over 20 years!
